In his final creative phase, Herwig Schubert devoted himself to pure colour painting with egg tempera. He only occasionally produced studies while working on his mythical portraits.

These landscapes were created during Schubert’s last trip to Iceland in 2017 at the holiday home in Grenivik on the Eyjafjord.
